Thrive Cancer Coaching
Thrive – Life Coaching for Women with Cancer
I created Thrive, a cancer-coaching program, to help women manage the many things one must suddenly juggle when you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, from multiple doctor’s appointments and choosing a treatment plan to the daily emotional and physical ups and downs that come from initial diagnosis through treatment to managing life in remission. I create wellness plans and employ health strategies to keep patients optimistic, on track, and supported. This work is extremely important to me as a cancer thriver myself, and I deeply value the experience of guiding and supporting women with cancer.
Together we will:
- Delve into your specific situation by looking not only at physical health but also your emotional, social, and psychological wellbeing.
- Develop a step-by-step plan for feeling better and stronger in 90 days
- Uncover the hidden roadblocks stopping you from feeling your best
- Create your individual Cancer Thriver vision
- Discover which foods and lifestyle habits are sapping your energy and how to develop new coping mechanisms
My Cancer Thriver Story
In 2016, I had a nagging intuition. Something didn’t feel right in my body. My mother and aunt had had early breast cancer, and I had been on a cancer-watch schedule since I was in my 30s, having mammograms once a year and doing thermography scans in between. The possibility was real, but it’s hard to believe it will ever happen to you. Nevertheless, I listened to that intuition and immediately went to get another thermography scan. My worries were confirmed. I had a mass. A couple months later, I was being treated for breast cancer.
I wish that was the end of the story. But having cancer is never that easy. My cancer came back a year later as breast cancer metastases to the bone (stage 4, incurable), and I was overwhelmed by all that was expected of me—scheduling doctor’s appointments, making treatment decisions, taking care of myself emotionally, and still being responsible for daily life.
Luckily, I have a wonderful and supportive family and group of friends, but still, the onus to understand, do and decide everything, plus heal, was nearly more than I could manage. Not to mention, I am a mother of three great kids and the owner of a small business. Ugh!
As a woman who has dedicated her life to health and wellness and understands that healing is a journey that asks so much of us, I saw with illumined clarity my calling to help other women navigate the complex world of cancer and live life to the fullest. That’s when I started Thrive.
